echoic (ĕ-kō’ĭk)

adj.

1. Of or resembling an echo.
2. Imitative of natural sounds; onomatopoeic: an echoic word.

Echoic Memory, the auditory version of sensory memory, refers to the phenomenon in which there is a brief mental echo that continues to sound after auditory stimuli has been heard.
